WHY ASSEMBLE?

SUSTAINABLE DESIGN and production

Next to oil, fashion and textiles is the most polluting industry in the world. Every stage in a garment’s life threatens our planet and its resources.

We know that to make our design and production process sustainable, we need to look beyond the outer fabric to wider factors that influence the process. It is therefore important for us to consider the following aims. If we feel that these aims are not being met, we will do our best to change or challenge the process.

AIMS

Environmental sustainability by making informed design choices leading to minimal waste and environmental impact through production.

Social sustainability by working with our clients and staff to make sure that people are always at the heart of the process.
Economic sustainability by designing products and processes that conserve human and material resources for the long term.

BEHIND THE SEAMS

At Kalopsia, we wanted to re-invent the micro-manufacturing business model by developing designs and processes that allowed for a more sustainable and efficient way of using materials. As a society, we have to create a culture and environment that allows people to have the opportunity to access products that are sustainably and ethically produced. However, this cannot be achieved without highlighting the current inequalities within the industry, including the transparency of power distribution through unethical working conditions and pay, sourcing and exploitation of producers and suppliers.

WHY WE NEED TO VALUE OUR CLOTHES AND TEXTILES GOODS

Assemble works as building blocks for textiles printers, retailers and creatives. We have curated the collection to highlight craftsmanship and sustainability whilst considering functional, classic designs with contemporary, clean aesthetics. This allows each fabric to put its stamp on the product.

The Assemble Apparel and Accessory collection contains classic base items that can be ordered in (almost) any fabric. This collection offers additional options such as sizes and finishings.

POCKET EQUALITY

Pockets are a feminist issue, and something we feel very passionate about. As anyone that has bought women's clothes will know, pockets can be a critical issue and are often inadequately provided. The Assemble Apparel range has been designed to accommodate pockets. These are not just features which barely have enough room for spare change, but functional constructions, capable of holding phones and keys.

Want to do custom changes and add details to your Assemble apparel item? Not a problem, send us an email and let us know and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
