Made in Scotland

OUR STORY

Kalopsia is a forward thinking Textiles Micro-Manufacturer that is challenging the way textiles and fashion products should be thought about and made.

In 2012, Kalopsia began their journey by asking the question 'What is Textiles?'. Today, Kalopsia operates as a Social Enterprise in Edinburgh’s busy creative and cultural port, Leith.

CONTEMPORARY TEXTILES

In 2013 Kalopsia opened up the "Kalopsia Gallery" which was designed to showcase the work of local and international creators. Located in Ocean Terminal - a shopping centre in Edinburgh - the gallery aimed to start a conversation about the use of textiles within conceptual art.

INNOVATION PROJECTS

After working with "Zero Waste Scotland", Kalopsia set up 'The Facility' in 2015, to provide a space for creative organisations and individuals to connect, collaborate and innovate. The Facility space was located in a former commercial unit where it provided studios, a gallery, shop and a textiles production space.
